Volunteer Sessions at the Farm

Saturday Morning Young
Volunteers
We provide Saturday morning volunteering opportunities at May Blossom Farm for young people. Some of our regular volunteers are doing their Duke of Edinburgh awards. Others simply come along to help us with our animal care and farm projects. We especially welcome neurodivergent young people.
Gardening for Well-Being
We have a group of regular gardening volunteers who help to plant, weed and maintain our vegetable patches and growing spaces.
New in 2025 we are building a Growing for All accessible gardening space. This comprises a sensory garden area, for people with sensory needs, together with a wheelchair accessible raised bed growing area. This new space will improve our accessibility. We are grateful to the Severn Trent Community Fund and to Cummins Inc. for funding this project.

May Blossom Farm Friends
Work Days
Once a month or so our Farm Friends gather at May Blossom Farm for a Saturday work day. We spend time working alongside each other on farm projects and infrastructure, and share a bread and soup lunch. Tradition has it there will always be a red soup and a green soup - eaten around the table outside.
Work days have: built a donkey shed, put down a path through the polytunnel, lined raised beds, laid a water line to the donkey stable, built the fencing around the donkey paddock, and dug and re-dug the vegetable patch. It's amazing how much gets done when everyone pulls together!
